Best Dating Sites for Men Over 50 in 2026: An Honest Comparison
Match, eharmony, SilverSingles, OurTime, Hinge and Arranged compared for men over 50: who each one is built for, how it works, what it costs where we could verify it, and which to pick.
Quick verdict: if you want a relationship with a woman close to your own age, start with Match or OurTime, and add eharmony if you'd rather be matched than browse. If you'd like more say in who you write to and are comfortable with a wider age gap, Arranged is built for that: browsing and matching are free, and messaging is $49.99 a month.
We run Arranged, so read our section on it with that in mind. Every fact about another site below comes from that company's own page or app store listing, checked on October 25, 2026. Where we couldn't verify a price, we left it out.
Most lists of dating sites for men over 50 are written to sell you a subscription, and quite a few of them recycle prices and member counts from years ago. We tried to do the boring version instead. For each site, we checked what the company itself says right now, wrote down where we found it, and gave you our opinion separately so you can tell which is which.
One thing worth saying up front. At 50, you don't need the biggest app. You need the one where the women you'd actually like to meet are looking for the same thing you are. That narrows the field faster than any ranking will. If you're closer to 40, our best dating apps for men over 40 covers the younger end, and the dating over 40 guide for men covers profiles, photos and first messages.
The short comparison
| Site | Who it's built for | How you meet people | Verified price (Oct 25, 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|

| OurTime | People over 50 | Curated daily matches, search | 1 Month Premium $39.99 (App Store) |
| eharmony | People who want a long-term partner | Compatibility quiz, then suggested matches | Not verified, so not listed |
| SilverSingles | Adults 50 and over | Personality questionnaire, suggested matches | Not verified, so not listed |
| Hinge | Relationship-minded daters, skews younger | Profiles built around written prompts | Not verified, so not listed |
| Arranged | Men and women open to an age gap, often in different cities | Browse full profiles, like, match, then message | Free to browse; Premium $49.99/mo to message; women free |
App store prices change often and can differ by country and by the platform you buy on. Treat the two we list as a snapshot from October 25, 2026, not a quote.
Match: the default for men over 50 who want something serious
Match is run by Match Group, and its App Store listing (seller: Match Group Americas, LLC, checked October 25, 2026) describes it as "designed for singles who know what they want." The same listing says you can create a profile, upload photos, browse daily match suggestions and join virtual and in-person events without a subscription. Premium adds unlimited profiles, advanced filters, the ability to revisit profiles you passed on, and boosts. The listing shows "1 Month Standard" at $44.99.
Our opinion: Match is the site most men over 50 already know, and that familiarity is part of its value, because the women you'd most likely meet there know it too. The search filters are the reason to pay. If you know you want someone within ten years of your own age who lives within driving distance, Match lets you ask for exactly that. What it isn't is quick or particularly modern. Go in expecting to put a few weeks into it.
OurTime: built specifically for over-50 dating
OurTime's App Store listing calls it "the dating app for people over 50." Its seller is also Match Group Americas, LLC, and the copyright line reads People Media, the company Match.com bought in 2009 before IAC launched OurTime in 2011 by combining its existing 50-plus sites (IAC press release, May 2011). The free tier, according to the listing, gives you curated daily matches, search and its Topics feature. Premium adds seeing who liked you, read receipts and profile boosts. The listing shows "1 Month Premium Subscription" at $39.99, alongside several other plans whose relationship to each other it doesn't explain.
Our opinion: if you specifically want to date women in their fifties and sixties, OurTime puts you in a room where that's the whole point, and you won't have to explain your age to anyone. Its interface is plainer than the newer apps. That bothers some people less than you'd think. Read the plan list carefully before you pay, since the listing shows more than one product with similar names.
eharmony: if you'd rather be matched than browse
eharmony's approach is different from the others here. On its own page about the Compatibility Quiz (eharmony.com, checked October 25, 2026), the company says the quiz "contains 39 questions and most people should be able to complete it in roughly 20 minutes," and that your answers build a "Personality Profile" used to match you. The same page says the quiz was developed "with the help of leading psychologists" and that eharmony has "brought over 2m couples together." That last figure is eharmony's own claim; we haven't seen it independently checked.
We didn't find a current US price on a page we could verify, so we've left it out. Check the price on the sign-up screen before entering a card, and check how renewal works too.
Our opinion: eharmony suits a man who is tired of scrolling and wants someone else to do the sorting. The trade-off is control and speed. You see fewer people, and you see the ones the system picks. If you're clear that you want marriage or a long-term partner, that can be a feature.
SilverSingles: a 50-plus site with a questionnaire up front
SilverSingles is one of Spark Networks' brands, alongside EliteSingles, Zoosk and Jdate (Spark Networks company profile on Wikipedia, checked October 25, 2026). It's aimed at adults over 50, and sign-up includes a personality questionnaire that feeds its match suggestions. Its US app listing states that Spark Networks does not run background checks on members, which is standard for the industry but rarely said so plainly. We couldn't verify a current price, so none is listed here.
Our opinion: SilverSingles sits somewhere between OurTime and eharmony. You get an age-focused audience like OurTime and a questionnaire-led approach like eharmony. If neither of those quite fits, it's worth a look. As with any site that suggests matches for you, the quality of what you get depends heavily on how honestly you answer at the start.
Hinge: good writing beats good lighting
Hinge was founded in 2012 and acquired by Match Group in 2018, according to the timeline on its own Our Story page (hinge.co, checked October 25, 2026). Profiles are built around written prompts, so people respond to something you said rather than only your photos.
Our opinion: Hinge leans younger than the rest of this list, and in a smaller city you may not find many women over 45 on it. In a big city it can work well for men over 50, for one reason. Prompts reward a man who can write a funny, specific sentence about his life, and by 50 most men have better material than they did at 30. If you use it, put more effort into the three prompts than into a fourth photo.
Arranged: if you want to choose who you write to, and distance isn't a problem
We run Arranged, so here are the facts first and our pitch second.
On Arranged, men pay and women don't. Joining, browsing full profiles with full photos, liking, matching and seeing who liked you are free for everyone. A man needs Premium ($49.99 a month or $499 a year) to read and send messages. Diamond ($99.99 a month or $999 a year) adds private browsing, hidden read receipts and last seen, priority placement, a weekly 24-hour boost and a Diamond badge. The full breakdown is on our pricing page. Photo verification is optional: it's a live selfie checked automatically for a face and apparent age. It isn't compared to your profile photos, and it isn't income verification.
Arranged is often described as a sugar dating site, and the women on it are typically younger than the men. Our 2026 data report found a median age of 39 for men and 26 for women, and a median age gap of 19 years across 1,864 matches. So a man of 55 is older than most men on the site. We'd rather you know that before joining than after.
What the same data says in your favor: men's first messages were answered 37% of the time, and distance didn't lower that. Messages crossing 1,000 miles or more got replies 37% of the time, against 35% under 25 miles. Members routinely fly each other out, which suits a man with a flexible schedule and a travel budget more than one who wants someone ten minutes away.
Our opinion: Arranged is a good fit if you're open to a wider age gap, you'd like to see someone's full profile before deciding to write, and you're happy to travel or host. It's a poor fit if you want someone close to your own age who lives nearby. For that, Match or OurTime will serve you better. Our guide on dating younger women respectfully is worth reading before you start, either way.
How to pick the best dating site for you at 50 and up
Start with two questions. What age range would you genuinely like to date? And how far would you go to meet someone? If your answers are "close to my age" and "an hour's drive," you want Match or OurTime, possibly with eharmony alongside. If your answers are "open to a wider range" and "I'd fly," Arranged fits better.
Then use two sites, not five. One broad site and one that matches how you want to date. Give each a full month. A profile you've written carefully on two sites beats a rushed one on five, and you'll actually remember who you've been talking to.
Finally, pay for whatever you keep. Free tiers are built to show you what you're missing, so a month on the paid tier tells you far more than three months on the free one.
What doesn't change from site to site
Your photos still do most of the work. Use a recent, well-lit photo of your face as your first picture, and a full-length one somewhere in the set. Our photo guide for men over 40 is a shot list you can finish in a weekend, and it applies just as well at 55.
Your first message should be short and about her. On Arranged, openers of 60 to 149 characters were answered 41% of the time, against 18% for openers of 150 characters or more, and openers with a question got replies 50% of the time against 33% without one. We can't promise the same holds on Match, but we'd be surprised if a long message about yourself works better anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best dating site for men over 50?
For a relationship with someone close to your own age, Match and OurTime are the most direct places to start, and eharmony suits men who'd rather be matched by a questionnaire than browse. For men open to a wider age gap and to traveling to meet someone, Arranged is built for that, with free browsing and $49.99 a month to message.
Are dating sites for 50 and up worth paying for?
Usually, if you've picked the right one. Free tiers are designed to limit what you can do, so a month on the paid tier tells you far more about whether a site works for you. Check the renewal terms before you pay, because most subscriptions renew automatically.
Is OurTime only for people over 50?
OurTime's App Store listing describes it as "the dating app for people over 50," and that's who it's built for. Its audience is the reason to use it.
Which dating site has the most men and women over 50?
None of these companies publishes a current, verifiable count of members over 50 that we could check, so we won't guess. OurTime and SilverSingles are the two on this list built specifically for people over 50, and Match is the broad site many people over 50 already use.
Can a man over 50 use Arranged?
Yes. The median man on Arranged is 39, so a man over 50 is older than most, and the median age gap across matches is 19 years. All members are 18 or older. Browsing and matching are free; men pay $49.99 a month to message.
Is eharmony good for men over 50?
It suits men who want a long-term partner and would rather be matched than search. Its compatibility quiz has 39 questions and takes about 20 minutes, according to eharmony. You'll see fewer people than on a browse-first site.
