The best dating app for a man over 40 in Miami depends mostly on what you want: Hinge and Match for a relationship with someone close to your age, Arranged if you're open to a wide age gap and want that said upfront. Miami changes how you use any of them, though. The metro had about 6.46 million people in 2024 (U.S. Census Bureau estimates), it's spread along the coast from Homestead to Palm Beach, and per the Census Bureau's American Community Survey (2020 to 2024), 75.3% of Miami-Dade residents speak a language other than English at home.

You're not competing on lighting with men half your age; you're competing on whether you can say something interesting about yourself in a sentence. Most men with a few decades of stories can.

Free members can message matches, with a daily cap on likes. Hinge+ removes the cap, and its App Store listing showed it at $16.99 and $19.99 when we checked on October 29, 2026. In our experience Hinge leans toward people looking for a relationship, which is either exactly what you want or a slight mismatch if you're after something with a clearer age gap.

Match: where many men in their late 40s and 50s start

Match is one of the oldest dating platforms still running, and in our view it's where a lot of men in their late 40s and 50s looking for someone near their age go first. You can't read messages on a free account, per DatingScout. Its App Store listing showed "1 Month Standard" at $44.99 on October 29, 2026.

The paywall filters out casual browsers, which helps. The interface feels dated, which doesn't. If you're looking for a woman in her 20s or 30s, you'll find fewer here than elsewhere.

Bumble: the rule that changed

For most of its life Bumble's defining rule was that in matches between men and women, the woman sent the first message. That changed in August 2026, when Bumble said all users could send the first message, citing a company survey in which 66% of women said they preferred men to message first (CNN, August 13, 2026).

So Bumble now works much like the other big apps. Its App Store listing showed Premium at $17.99 to $32.99 on October 29, 2026. In our opinion it's a reasonable second app in Miami for reach, with intentions all over the map.

Tinder: big, young and mostly casual

Tinder has the biggest name, and in our experience it skews young and casual, which in a tourist city like Miami means a lot of profiles from people here for a week. Its App Store listing showed Tinder Gold at $13.99 to $24.99 on October 29, 2026. Tinder has been widely reported to vary prices by age; in Candelore v. Tinder, a lawsuit over charging older users more, the parties agreed in September 2025 to settle for $60.5 million (Match Group's quarterly report for the quarter ended September 30, 2025). If you use it, use the age filters.

Raya: application-only, and slow to get into

Raya comes up in Miami more than in most cities. Its App Store listing says membership "is available by application only," that applications are reviewed by a committee, and that review "can range from days to months." The listing showed Membership at $24.99 and Raya+ at $49.99 on October 29, 2026. In our opinion it's a supplement for men already accepted, not a plan: you can't count on getting in, and once you're in the pool is small.

eharmony and The League

eharmony says its Compatibility Quiz has 39 questions and takes most people about 20 minutes, and it matches you on the result. It's slow by design. If you want a date this weekend, it isn't your app.

The League uses your LinkedIn profile as part of its vetting. Its App Store listing showed "Premium Membership - 1 Month" at $99.99 on October 29, 2026. In our opinion it's a supplement rather than a main app.

Arranged: for men who want a younger adult partner and want to be clear about it

The gap the mainstream apps leave is this. If you're 46 and interested in a woman of 28, Hinge and Match will let you set that age range, but nothing tells you whether she's open to a wide gap. You find out three dates in.

Arranged is built the other way round. Both people say upfront what they're looking for, including the age gap and how they'd like a relationship to work: how often you can see each other, whether one of you travels, whether you want something exclusive. On Arranged, the median man is 39, the median woman is 26, and the median age gap across 1,864 matches is 19 years. Photo verification is optional: a live selfie checked automatically for a face and apparent age. It isn't compared to profile photos, so a video call before you meet is still the best check.

The honest downsides: Arranged launched in 2026, so it's much smaller than Hinge or Bumble, and members often meet across cities rather than across town. Not every profile is verified. And clarity here means clarity about the relationship, not a transaction. Florida law prohibits prostitution (Fla. Stat. §796.07), and Arranged bans exchanging money or gifts for sex.

Write your profile in English and Spanish

This is the most Miami-specific advice in the post.
